Garden Update

This is how our garden started out....there was a lot of weeding to do. There were several options on how we would go about this but in the end we decided on old fashioned weed pulling. It only took 2 hours (while keeping the kids out of others gardens) to complete 1/2 of it. We quickly realized that it was going to be extremely difficult to get Benjamin to not destroy the neighboring gardens, so we devised a plan. We made him a kids pen. He lasts for about a 1/2 hour before he starts screaming to get out.
So far we have planted 3 Pumpkin, 3 Yellow Squash, 5 Zucchini, and a row of Chard. I still need to plant the tomatoes and onions.
The plan was to have the garden finished by today, but it pored all last week, and then some more last night, so we are waiting for a dry day so that we can go and finish the project. As you can see we still need to weed the last 3 feet, (tomato section) but what can you do.... it rains all the time here which won't be a problem once we get all the plants in.

Thanks for taking me under your wing and making sure I'm all right while Aaron is away!

Looks great! What a fun project, and the "pen" was a good idea.
