Final Chore Can update!

Ok here are the sticks and their resting spot in the kitchen. They are easily accessible and still work great for the kids.

1. Location and basket (bathroom soap dish for shower)

2. Holds all the sticks, and Ehre and Ben's sticks to let me know which colored jobs they are responsible for.

3. Reward sticks front.

I had to post the good news that we "finished" recieving yesterday! I worked hard for these (Lots of letters of recomendation and essays) and I am really proud to accept both of these awards. I do have to say doing well has ben only 10% of my own work, Jeff and the kids get 40% of the credit and the Lord the other 50%. I know that being in school right now is where I am supposed to be, and thats becuase the Lord arranged to have everything else taken care of. In a few months I will return to full time Motherhood, but with a degree to help support our family should we ever need it.

The convocation letter was actually sent "To the Parents of Ann Maas", it probibily should have said "To the children of Ann Maas" :)

Ok I love this song, I got it from a friend but there is something so incredible about the opening piano music! Every time I hear it I feel like I am stepping into my personal "relaxation zone" and who doesn't like Jim Brickman?! Ok I love music and I am so happy to have added it to our blog. By the way this background is from Cutest Blog on the Block.... great ideas there!

Followup on Chore Cans

A lot of people have asked for the specifics so here you go....

Ehre and Ben both have a Popsicle stick on the fridge with colored bars on them. Each color coordinates with a colored chore stick that they are responsible for (Ehre has 5 Ben has 3).

Every morning Ehre is supposed to.... get up and make her bed, get dressed independently, and put PJ's away ...this earns her two sticks
a. Bed
b. Get dressed

In the evening she
a. Sets table/Helps with dishes
b. Cleans up room

Overall she can earn...
a. Happy Day (meaning she doesn't backtalk, and try's hard to use words when frustrated)

Sundays she can earn
a. Sunday Stick for sitting well through Sacrament Meeting

When they earn sticks they put them in their own can. I try and do this with them before bedtime.

I have made 7 of each stick so they have a chance to earn one each day.

Rewards:
On Fridays we total up Ehre and Ben's sticks to see how many they each have.

They can earn
small treat made with mom for 10 sticks
Movie date with daddy and popcorn 20 sticks
movie night at home 15 sticks
etc.... I can remember all the rewards.

The reward sticks are purple with a picture of the reward and # of sticks required for it.

Ehre loves earning the sticks. After she gets the reward sticks all the sticks go back into the holder on the dryer, and the week starts over.

Ehre can use her reward immediately or choose to use it later...so I need to make some duplicate reward sticks :)'
