Scrapbooking Program

Ok I really really really want a scrap booking program, I was able to do these but its from a simple package that came with our computer, requires online access (which we don't have at home right now) and you only work with in the packaged pieces...eg holiday 1 you can't use what is in other packages... does anyone know of a good digital scrap booking program we can buy to do this at home that lets me "embellish" how ever I may want to?

These were fun to make! Say good by to scrap booking by hand, no more paper mess!

A Dream House...oneday.

Jeff and Ehre enjoyed a walk before Church.

A Quick Trip for a Birthday Party!

Ehre has been asking for a long time when we are going to go and visit her cousin Hannah again....well it was sooner than we thought.

Alice had emailed me last week to see if we could come up this week for a birthday party for Hannah, but this week is the primary program so we asked if we could hang up and drive up then....she said yes...so 2 hours later we were on the road. Its only a 3 1/2 hour drive now that they've moved and it was a fun weekend.

The pics...well Jeff wasn't thrilled that our daughter was holding an expensive Violin, so we sent him out of the room. Ben, well he obviously doesn't know how to treat a violin so its a good thing he had the fake one. All in all, Ehre loved it! So maybe in a few years (after we've mastered piano lessons) we'll start her on the violin. Keep an eye out for us on a affordable small violin!

This is their home its beautiful and sits on 10 acres, 1/2 marshland but that's ok...they live in "Marshal". ha ha ha

SPAN Celebration

I've been able to be a part of a unique organization here at Purdue. It is one of a kind. The SPAN Plan Program was developed by Helen Schlemen who realized the need for assisting nontraditional students (at the time specifically women) in finishing a college degree. I've used some of their services and I am in the process of applying for their scholarships, but in the mean time I've been helping out with their 40th Anniversary Celebration.

The celebration was held last night, since Ben was with me he helped "set up" the balloons...he had a lot of fun playing with them!

These are the only two pictures I have, but hopefully later I will be able to include the newspaper clipping and some more pictures.
Sorry Ben isn't smiling in this one.... instead he is holding onto his pants trying to hold still for the picture... :)

Oktoberfest

Benjamin and me dancing to the polka like music.
The German Folk band.
St. Augustine's church, that still has a German mass every Sunday.
The crowds, apparently it gets even busier when they bring out all the beer later on in the evening!
Here we are ready to go in!
Ben playing at the kinderfest.
This is a woman's drindle. Ben wasn't a fan of leaving me just for a picture!
This gentleman is from Germany, he met his American wife in a US Bar ( go figure ) and they have lived in Germany. She is wearing a drindle, and he is wearing leiderhosen. One day we'll acquire these outfits as well, even if I have to modify the sleeves of the drindle a little bit!

This past weekend we headed up to Chicago. We met up with Jason and Sofia (We were sorry that Marcella and Nicho couldn't make it) and had a great time. Saturday morning Jeff and I were able to attend the 8 am Temple session. Then we took the train downtown to see the Oktober fest.....I was kind of disappointed for it being a German holiday, they didn't represent themselves well. Only two stands sold German like food, potato pancakes and brats. We saw 1 family in the leiderhosen and drindle...and that was it! There was a German folk band but they showed up late so we only heard about 30 seconds of their music by the time they set everything up. It was a fun adventure, and we can now check it off our "to do" list. But I don't think we'll return next year! We did hear that they have an amazing Christmas festival, so we will try and make it to that this Christmas season! Hey maybe my parents will be here for it!
